Convection Recuperator

Convection recuperators (also referred to as "flue" or "canal" recuperators) are tubular heat exchangers that utilize convection heat transfer to preheat combustion air or gas for the purpose of saving fuel. By recovering heat from the hot waste gas exiting a furnace and transferring it to the combustion air feeding the burners, fuel usage can be reduced by an average of twenty-five percent (25%), and in many cases, greater savings are realized.

Radiation recuperators are high temperature heat exchangers that utilize radiation heat transfer to preheat combustion air or gas for the purpose of saving fuel. By recovering heat from the hot waste gas exiting a furnace and transferring it to the combustion air feeding the burners, fuel usage can be reduced by an average of thirty-five percent (35%), and in many cases, greater savings are realized.

Most of our coolers employ ambient air as the cooling medium, although water-cooled units are furnished as well.

Precipitator Components

Thermal Transfer Corporation manufactures internal components for precipitators, including discharge electrodes and collecting plates that are typically used as replacement parts for existing installations. Electrostatic precipitators (ESP) are used to collect particulate found in waste gas streams generated by fossil fuel power plants and other industrial processes.
