ESP Rapping

The Magnetic Impulse Gravity Impact rapper, developed and patented in the 1950's by Research-Cottrell, has become the most widely used rapper for cleaning the collecting plates and discharge electrodes of electrostatic precipitators. Many have copied the MIGI rapper, but few have duplicated the features incorporated and improved from the original design. Nor have others demonstrated the durability of a similar product via in situ operation such as Hamon Research-Cottrell has done with the MIGI rapper.

While the MIGI rapper can deliver a one-two punch to clean your collecting plates and discharge electrodes, it may not be the appropriate choice for all discharge electrode systems.

Pneumatic rappers are good general-purpose rappers that can deliver strong shearing forces to collecting plates.
