Wall Bushings / Feed Through Bushings Insulators
It is inevitable that a high voltage bus (pipe or cable) must at some point pass from the clean environment of a bus duct to the dirty environment of the precipitator interior. Similarly, a high voltage bus may be required to transit between a low-pressure environment to a high-pressure environment or vice versa. In these instances a mechanism is needed to allow high voltage to pass between the two differing environments while isolating the differing environments from one another and the high voltage bus from grounded surfaces. Wall bushings or feed through bushings, as they are oftentimes referred, provide mechanism by which to accomplish this feat.

Wall bushings and feed through insulators are provided where conductors penetrate a wall, a roof or other plane. Such insulators are provided with the appropriate mounting flange, usually located at the mid point of the insulator, to provide appropriate electrical clearances and seals.
